The Carbon Monoxide Factor

Carbon Monoxide is a poisonous gas that kills the victim when the gas molecules attach themselves to red blood cells in such a way as to prevent oxygen molecules from connecting. It is like suffocating without being choked or smothered. It is listed as CO1, the thing is, if it had one extra molecule then it would become a totally different gas and becomes CO2 which is a relatively harmless gas.

In the same way the gospel is the life saving breath we all need, but if you take away any of the elements or add to it, then you get either a counterfeit gospel that won’t save anyone or a dangerous gospel that we often see in cults. Some add works to salvation and some subtract repentance in faith from salvation.

Proverbs 30:6 Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

Deuteronomy 4:2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.

Revelations 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

We cannot alter the message, doing such is disasterous for both us and others.
The message is simple, we are saved by grace by faith in Jesus Christ and none other, not by works or good deeds but a truly changed life will result in obedience and a life lived for God.

Many ask, “How can a loving God send people to Hell?” but my question is, If God were as mean and vindictive as they make him out to be than why has he not sent us all to hell already. He is under no obligation to give any of us another second to live and could easily without any need to explain his decision send anyone to Hell at any moment. He is not mean, angry or unjust though, He is patient and wanting to give everyone the same opportunity to turn from their rebellion and embrace His love through Jesus Christ.

(2 Peter 3:9) NIV The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

(Ezekiel 18:32) For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!

(John 3:17) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

God has no desire to send anyone to Hell, but he won’t stop people who want to reject His free offer and plan of salvation found in Jesus Christ.
