Repentence And Rest

A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord.

Proverbs 19:3 –

Not all suffering is directly a result of sin or poor decisions, but there is a type we all can bring on ourselves and just for the record I know this principle well enough after even a short 28 years on earth. God is often blamed for a lot of hardship and as a human myself I have had temptations to get angry with God at what happens in times of life. Yet if God truly was out to punish any of us, he would kill us and sentence us to eternal hell. But God sent Christ to remove that punishment if we reach out to Him by faith! We still sow and reap but God according to Scripture, “For he does not willingly afflict the children of men” it says and that is He is not up there with glee hoping you blow it so he can smack you- thats how I used to see God but after I saw and experienced his love I see him more as what the Bible says “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you, he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice, blessed are all who wait upon Him.”

Does God want to just see you fail or sin to strike your life or see you reap the consequences? No, we all will when we sow poorly but God delights in repentence and turning from foolish and sinful living!

When we repent, we turn from sin to seek the Lord and through Christ the moment we get saves by faith we turn to Jesus. The rest God gives is the weight of our sin is removed, the “blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1 says.

We as Hebrews says “Enter God’s rest” and we are at “Peace with God through our Lord Jeaus Christ” it is written. We are received and accepted freely by grace when we receive and accept Him who makes it possible to be saved!
