Look here, as Christ lie there dying on the cross there were “Two rebels” along side of him “one on his right and one on his left.”
The truth of the Gospel is Christ died for sinners both on the right and left, if we die holding on to a false political gospel we die in our sins together along with those who are our rivals unless, like one of the thieves on the cross you respond in brokeness-
Luke 23:39-41 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
These two thieves had this in common, they were both guilty- only differences were their geographical position and also one repented and put his faith in Christ, the other died in his sins. The lost sinners on the right cannot condemn the lost sinners on the left, neither can the lost sinners on the left blame those on the right, the only response, and the wisest response is to look at our broken souls condemned to die but in home look to Him who dies in our place.
