Love vs Trust. Know the difference.

Some of a man’s friends will be like a loyal dog yet others he must treat like a pet constrictor. He loves all his pets but it be foolish to treat all his pets the same way with the same trust.

We ought to apply the same logic to people, it be unwise to do otherwise. I have had friends that have burned me that do not deserve the same trust as a friend who has proved faithful loyal and capable of great trust.

The secret is love without reservation but trust with great discrimination. Let your love be generous but your trust be cautious.

Matthew 10:16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

Jesus loved all people, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever will believe in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

He loved whom? The world, that is all who dwell there in.

But did Jesus trust all? No.- John 2:24-25 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

We must be wise. The only person completely worthy of trusting 100 percent is God. Human beings even if they are trustworthy loyal ones will have moments they let us down. Im sure you all can relate. Ever had someone you thought had your back and never expected to be disappointed by end up being the one to do this? I’m sure we all can relate! Every one of us knows that feeling at some point in our lives.

That is why the Bible says:

Jeremiah 17:5-7 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man,who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. ”

We must only fully trust the one who is perfect and incapable of sin! Human friendships and relationships with the ones we love are great blessings and wonderful seasonings for life. Good companionship is like sweet dessert, its a lovely addition to the meal we know as life that God gave us, but if you only eat dessert everyday then there is an issue. Let me know how it works out for you.
