Do you ever feel dry in your walk with the Lord, and does your relationship with Christ seem less vibrant than it does at other times? The truth is loving God is not a feeling and loving God does not require only huge leaps of faith or great acts of service. Sometimes we feel like we have very little to offer the Lord, as we see in this story, the poor woman gave little but none the less from her heart!
Luke 21:1-4 Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
We really cannot offer God much at all, and even as Christians we must rely on who he is more so then who we are. Our loyalty and goodness are very minuscule in comparison but he still will receive our little acts of love if they come truly from a heart of love and worship.
Do not just obey or give God your time, love or energy only when you have a lot to spare and you feel super spiritual. We live by faith and not sight so everything done for Christ matters whether small or great.
