Not that Im an expert in sales but the key to successful business is in the consumers not just the product itself. It can be the greatest product but trying to sell it to a group of individuals who do not want it or have no use of it is vain. When I sold Cutco I had to follow criteria of who I displayed their product to and even though it was a fantastic product, if I did not aim for the ideal target group no sales would be made. The same goes for real-estate sales. You have better luck making a sale to a couple with 3 children than a 30 year old man living in his mother’s basement. The lesson I think behind this is that witnessing is very similar to sales in a way because you can not just go and expect someone to respond or accept the gospel who thinks they are good as is and fine without. God gives us all opportunities daily if we keep our eyes open. He brings people across our paths and into our lives for a reason. We do not have to just go out out and do “cold sales” or “door knocking” so to speak, not that God disapproves of us sharing this way but often it is more effective to seize opportunities that spring up on their own.
Colossians 4:5-6 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
